Facial mask is a #musthave on my skincare product list. It is a key anti-aging product to me and I'm always up for trying new ones. Facial mask is considered more of a luxury product in the skincare world, since we don't need it on a daily basis. A good and an effective mask will not always be the most affordable. So today, I want to share a company that offers good and affordable masks with you.
I recently got a wonderful opportunity to try a few masks from Masque Bar by Look Beauty - a local (Toronto, Canada) skincare company. They offer a wide range of sheet, crème and mud masks for all skin type. They don't only offer facial masks, but also hand masks, foot masks, eye patches, fingernail masks, neck mask, lip gel patch and a cleanser. Their masks are developed in Korea. They're all soaked in serum to provide maximum moisturization to your skin. Below are some of the masks that I received and tried out.
From their wide range of face masks, I received the following four:
(all of these comes in a box of 3 for $9.99 CAD)
- Anti Blemish-Prone Mud Mask (key ingredients: tea tree, kaolin and vitamin A)
- Brightening Sheet Mask (key ingredients: orange extract, liquorice root and vitamin C)
- Pore Refining Crème Mask (key ingredients: raspberry extract, lemon fruit extract and vitamin E)
- Wrinkle Reducing Sheet Mask (key ingredients: green tea extract, collagen, vitamin E)
I got a chance to try out two of the four masks before this blog post. First, I decided to try out the Anti Blemish-Prone Mud Mask since I had a few pimples at the time. The package was filled with a generous amount of mud inside. Although the package is made for one use only, I can say that it was definitely enough for a minimum of two uses. But since the mud would have harden, I used the excess mud on my neck and shoulders areas. This mask left my skin feeling deeply cleansed, refresh and also helped reduce the appearance of my blemishes.
I tried out the Brightening Sheet Mask next, simply because I was excited to try out their sheet masks, especially when I had a good experience with their mud mask. This mask is filled with nutrients that help brighten up dark spots and balance out skin tones. It left my skin looking brighter and feeling refreshed and hydrated.
Out of their few eye patches, I received the following two:
(the following two comes in a box of 5 for $9.99)
- Eye Puffiness Minimizing Patches (key ingredients: gingko extract, cucumber extract and phyto collagen)
- Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches (key ingredients: sunflower seed oil, phyto collagen, vitamin A and E)
Of the two, I chose to try out the Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches first because of my dark eye circles. If you have been following me, you may know that I have sensitive skin especially near my eye area. Since I had quite a few allergic reactions near my eye area before, I decided to leave the patches on for the minimum time of 30 minutes rather than overnight. I was very pleased that these eye patches didn't give me any allergic reactions and was able to brightened up my dark circles a bit. I can only imagine the difference it could have made if I'd left the patches on over night.
From their range of foot masks, I received the following:
(the following pair is priced at $9.99)
- Exfoliating Foot Mask (key ingredients: chamomile, natural botanical and papaya extract)
Protecting and taking care of my feet is very important to me. When I used to live in Ottawa, I pretty much drove everywhere. However, when I moved to Toronto, I found myself being on my feet so much more. I subway and walk to work and back home everyday and that took a toll on my feet as they weren't used to the amount of pressure. In turn, I started getting calluses on my feet and that triggered me to pay much more attention to them. So when I received this pair of foot mask, I was so excited to try them out!
The foot mask is basically a pair of wearable socks filled with ingredients that help exfoliate and smooth your feet within 2 weeks. The exfoliation/removal of calluses won't actually take place until 4 to 7 days after using it. And depending on the thickness of your calluses, some to all of it would come off 3 to 5 days after that. This pair of foot mask definitely made my feet feel exfoliated and soft!
I can't speak for the masks that I haven't tried, yet. But overall, based on the masks that I've tried, I would definitely recommend Masque Bar by Look Beauty and say that they are a brand worth trying. The masks that I've tried are relatively effective and best of all, they are at an affordable price! I'm so glad I got a chance to try them out and am able to share these wonderful products with you beauties!
