Hi beauties, I hope you're all having a lovely January so far. I usually look around and do a little more research on different moisturizers during winter, since the weather in Canada gets extra dry. Recently, I've been doing some research on the brand called 'Rodial'. I was blessed to have the opportunity to try out two of their products from their Snake Range. I had been using the products for about a month and would love to share my experience with you guys. For those of you who may not have heard of Rodial, it's a cosmetic company founded by Maria Hatzistefanis in 1999. They provide skincare, makeup and body care products. Their main goal is to offer high performance skincare products that provides targeted and result-driven treatments. Now that you know the company a little more, let's talk about their Snake Range.
The snake range's key ingredient is syn-ake dipeptide, which is an anti-wrinkle material based on a synthetic tripeptide. It mimics the effect of venom from a temple viper. This ingredient freezes and smooths the skin leaving it smoother and younger looking. This range is perfect for anyone that has concern for their expression lines and deep wrinkles. Under this range, I've tried their Snake Moisturiser O2 (with no SPF) and Snake Eye Cream O2. Here are my experiences with the two products.
The key ingredients in this moisturiser are: syn-ake dieptide, oxygen carrier, shea butter, vitamin C and vitamin E. As mentioned earlier, syn-ake dieptide helps smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Oxygen Carrier (O2) acts like caffeine, but for the skin - it instantly energizes, boosts circulation and radiance for the skin. Shea butter provides nourishment for it. And finally both vitamin C and E has antioxidant components, where vitamin C's component help brighten the skin and vitamin E's component help reduce signs of aging.
The bottle I received doesn't have any SPF, however it seems like Rodial only have the one with SPF15 available on their website at the moment. I figured the effects from both of them (less the SPF) would be pretty similar. The one I tried kept my skin hydrated throughout the day. It also felt light on the skin, so it doesn't suffocate it. During the past month of which I've been using the moisturiser (both in the morning and at night), I noticed a reduction in the appearance of my smile lines. As someone who has combination and sensitive skin, I would say the Snake Moisturiser O2 is a pretty good moisturiser and one that I'd definitely recommend.
The key ingredients in this eye cream are: syn-ake dipeptide, oxgen carrier, haloxyl, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. As mentioned above, syn-ake dipetide smooths the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, oxygen carrier energizes, boosts circulation and radiance for the skin and vitamin C helps brighten the skin. Haloxyl is simply a dark circle fader - one of the best widely known ingredient to treat dark under eye circles and discolouration. Hyaluronic acid has powerful anti-aging properties and is one of the most hydrating ingredients for skin.
I pretty much used this eye cream hand in hand with the snake moisturiser. During the month I used it, I have to say it kept my eye area hydrated, however it didn't quite lessen my dark under eye circles. In all honesty though, I haven't found an eye cream that can actually reduce my dark circles. If you have found one that actually helped reduce your dark circles, please share it with me and our lovely community here in the comments below! To me, eye creams are still pretty important regardless if it reduces dark circles or not as there are other ways and things you can do to reduce them. The most important result I look for from an eye cream is for it to keep the eye area hydrated and to prevent that area from aging with its anti-aging components. Overall, this specific eye cream satisfies my requirements and I'd still recommend it.
In conclusion, I would recommend both the products I mentioned above. Based on the results, I have faith that the rest of Rodial's Snake Range (which includes: Snake Booster Oil, Snake Neck Mask, Snake Mask, Snake Serum O2 and Snake Chin & Neck Lift) would also be worthwhile to tryout.
I hope this review was useful for you! Let me know in the comments below if you've tried their products before and your thoughts on them.
Thank you so much for dropping by and reading. Have yourself a wonderful day!
