Hi beauties! We usually see baby oil as a product that's only used for babies, but there are actually many different things that we can use baby oil for. I'm going to share 7 different ways of how you can incorporate baby oil into your beauty routine! These 7 hacks are actually ones that I've tried and still use from time to time.
no. 1 Moisturizer
For those who live in a dry climate, replacing your after shower moisturizer with baby oil is a life changer. Trust me - you'd notice a huge difference after using that all over your body! I know some people may not like the oily feeling it gives you (I personally don't prefer it either), however your skin will not only feel hydrated afterwards but also super soft. For people similar to me who doesn't prefer the oiliness, especially with your clothes touching all that oil, try putting on a bathrobe. Something about bathrobes actually make the oil bearable and actually comfortable on your skin.
no. 2 Enhance Your Bubble Baths
If you're not a fan of putting oil all over your body after showering, you can try adding a small amount of baby oil into your bath. This way, your skin won't feel as oily and it can still get that softening and moisturizing benefit from the oil.
no. 3 Makeup Remover
Since I've sensitive and combination skin, I only use baby oil as a makeup remover for my eyes and lips. Squeeze a few drops of baby oil onto a cotton pad, place it over your eyelids/lashes or your lips for a few seconds and gently wipe it off. If your skin type is similar to mine, I'd recommend washing the remaining baby oil off. However if you have dry skin, you can probably use baby oil as a makeup remover for your entire face and also allow your skin to absorb the oil - keeping it soft and moisturized.
NO. 4 NAIL CARE
It seems like cuticle oil has gotten more and more popular these days. Cuticle oil not only helps moisturize your cuticles, but also prevent you from getting hangnails. Instead of buying relatively expensive cuticle oil, why not use baby oil - you get much more of it in a bottle, plus it may already be laying around your home. Simply rub a few drops of baby oil onto your cuticles and just let it do its thing. I'd recommend doing this daily before bedtime.
no. 5 Haircare
Baby oil can do wonders for your hair. You can use it to tame your flyaways and give those split ends a nice shine. To ensure that your hair don't look too greasy and that it doesn't get weighted down by baby oil - remember to NOT apply baby oil directly to your hair. Squeeze a drop or two onto a cotton pad or tissue and gently pull your hair through it. You can style your hair per usual afterwards.
no. 6 Shave
Baby oil is definitely a multifunctional product. You can pretty much replace your shaving cream/gel and moisturizer if you choose to make use of this hack. All you have to do is slather the oil all over your legs and shave! The oil will do its job to keep your legs soft and moisturized.
no. 7 Scrub
You will need:
・Glass jar with lid
・1/2 cup of baby oil
・1 cup of sugar
・Essential Oil (optional)
Scrubs are pretty easy to make, especially this one. Simply mix all the ingredients together in a glass jar and store it in a cool area. If you prefer a specific scent, feel free to add about 5 to 8 drops of your favourite essential oil to the mix. You can use this for both your lips and body during shower. I've been using this scrub here and there and it feels so refreshing each time!
If you decide to try out the 'moisturizer', 'enhance your bubble baths' and the 'scrub' hacks, I would recommend you to not use them all at once. Of course it's all up to you. Personally, if I'm using one hack today - I wouldn't be using the other 2 hacks as it might just get a little too oily.
And there you have it - 7 different ways of how you can incorporate baby oil into your beauty routine. Feel free to leave me a comment below sharing your thoughts on these hacks if you've tried them before or if you have other baby oil hacks I didn't mention.
Thank you so much for dropping by & reading.
Have a lovely day!
